Centrebet - Betting Sites Comparison

Centrebet does not have a licence to operate in the UK.
Important note: Centrebet's bonus bet offer is currently available only for Australian residents with AUD currency in the account. It excludes however: South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria.

Centrebet and their online betting and gaming are operated by the Centrebet Group of companies. Centrebet cover sports betting in Australia and have grown since their beginnings back in 1992 to because one of the leading international online betting and gaming companies. Centrebet are able to offer over 6,000 markets every week, such has their growth been, and they can proudly claim that they were the first licensed bookmaker in the Southern Hemisphere to offer online sports betting. They run their services through Centrebet Australia and have become a competitive name in the online bookmaking market.

Betting Odds: 7/10 3.5 stars rating

Not too bad on the betting odds to be honest, and you will find them quite strong when it comes to cricket and rugby. When it comes to bet management, if you are wondering where your betting slip is when browsing around, donít worry, itíll show up as soon as you make your first betting selection. As for the bet slip itself, there is the opportunity to put individual stakes into singles betting, which isnít always available on some betting slips. However, there is actually a button if you want to apply the same stake to all of your singles bets, which is a great way to go about things. The Centrebet bet slip is pretty good when all things are considered. It is clear enough to read, and looks good, plus it is well organised into sections. Along with the Singles tab, there is a Boxed Multiís tab, and a Multiís tab. You simply select/deselect the bets you want from your list of singles and hit the Create Multi. The Boxed Multiís will give you the standard Multiples bet and you can view the combinations in there, including the change to build with a banker bet. Below the top area of the slip, there is a summary section showing the total bets, total wager and total potential returns. It all looks and performs great.

Betting Markets: 8/10 4 stars rating

Curiously when you do add a selection to your slip, the market stays on the centre of the screen and just gets added to a scrolling list when you add more. This is presumably so that you can keep track of your browsing history within the sports book markets, making it easy to go back to a previous market if you wanted to. However, it gives a slightly confusing appearance and feel though to the site. It is not anything which is distracting, but you can have rugby, tennis and soccer markets all up at once for example, instead of just clearing the board and bringing up full markets of new sports and events that you want to bet on. Itís just a little bit different from the norm, that is all and may appeal to some people. Along with the left hand driven menu for the sports book betting markets, which offers pretty good coverage on a variety of sports, you can also jump more quickly to sections by using the drop down menu right above it. As long as you donít want to jump quickly to volleyball, or else youíll have a lot of mouse scrolling work to do! There are plenty of options however when you go into a market, but again itís just a little confusing. By the side of each market, say a football match, there is a small plus sign which you click to get further submarkets on that particular market. Again, these expand to fill up that already busy centre section of the page, making for a lot of scrolling work again with the mouse.

Live In Play Betting: 6/10 3 stars rating

There is a live betting tab right at the top of the page, so you canít miss it. Click it and you will be taken to a fresh new screen showing the live events, and you have to also wait for your betting slip to be reloaded as well. The list of forthcoming live action appears under your betting slip, while you control the actual live action from a flash-driven window in the centre of the screen. Everything is just OK again with the Centrebet live in-play betting. However, there is just the overall feeling of a lack of organisation again which may put people off when compared to other bookmaker sites. The markets are decent and the prices are good, some people may find the browsing and operation the live betting just a little tedious.

Website: 6/10 3 stars rating

To be honest, itís not one of the quickest loading online betting sites that were visited during these reviews. The live in-play betting was one particularly troublesome and slow area which was found, and probably will be an issue for people with slow connections. Thatís a bit unfortunate really, because there are some good things about Centrebet, not least the bet management which is highly recommendable. The actual organisation of the site is OK, and the theme is dark in black, white and blue. Perhaps with a little tweaking here and there, this could be a good betting site, as the horse racing section is worth a particular mention because of how good it is. It is just the overall navigation of the site which lets it down a bit, but if you can get past that and familiarise yourself with the site by spending a bit of time on there, you will probably get a lot more out of it, than just the casual person who drops by. In some ways it feels like you are joining an exclusive club with a secret handshake if you really get to the deeper workings of the Centrebet website.

Customer Service: 8/10 4 stars rating

A big frequently asked questions section is waiting for you if something comes to mind. There is a list of telephone numbers to contact Centrebet if you need to speak to someone, the lines are toll free and can be called 24/7 any day of the year including holidays. You also have the option to engage in a live chat with customer service, or just set out your question/complaint in an email and sent it to them. There are also some good tutorials available to help get you up and running if you need them.

Promotions and Bonus Bets: 7/10 3.5 stars rating

There are actually plenty of promotions happening at Centrebet, and you can scroll through them right on the home page. Thereís a great tipping contest to enter, and cash back offers on certain sporting events. The promotions which were running at the time of writing, were largely dominated by Australian sports like Australian Rules and NRL Rugby. Might not be to everyoneís cup of tea who are betting from the UK, but for the broader bettor, there is plenty to take advantage of at Centrebet.

Summary: 7/10 3.5 stars rating

To put the Centrebet experience into perspective, you could kind of picture them being the Aston Villa of online bookmakers. They show and offer a lot of potential, but when it comes to taking on the heavyweights of the online betting world, there are clear comparisons which may not be up to scratch. Not a bad service, but perhaps not as great as it could be. There is a lot to enjoy on the website, but it may take a more specific kind of bettor to really get the benefits out of it all, like fans of Australian sports, and people with time who are willing to explore the submarkets with patience.
