Bet365 offer 11/2 odds on Tottenham to beat Liverpool – 2019-10-2726th October 2019 / lee
Did Manchester United show up some chinks in the armour of Liverpool? The Red Devils were largely the better of the two sides when they met at Old Trafford last weekend and played out a 1-1 draw. That was the first time the season that Liverpool failed to win a league game. The Reds get another tricky test this weekend as Spurs visit Anfield.
The odds on Tottenham to beat Liverpool are 11/2 at Bet365* (betting odds taken from bet365 on October 25th, 2019 at 9:59 pm).

Can Tottenham beat Liverpool?
Tottenham’s form hasn’t been great this season on the domestic front. There has been no secret of that. Last weekend they blew their lines at home against bottom side Watford. Spurs needed a late equaliser in the game to pull out a draw. That was after having lost heavily at Brighton in their previous Premier league match.
But can they shake all of that, can they, as big underdogs, deliver an upset at Anfield? It would be quite the upset indeed against the undefeated Reds, but stranger things have happened. On their day Spurs are still one of the best footballing sides in the division. They have one of the best strikers in the country in Harry Kane. Can boss Mauricio Pochettino plot Liverpool’s downfall?
Cracks in Liverpool’s defence
The Reds were not very good at Old Trafford last weekend and only survived thanks to a late equaliser. The defence of the Reds has been vulnerable his season, which is surprising given that Virgil van Dijk is leading the back line. Liverpool have only managed two clean sheets this season and neither of those have come at Anfield.
So there should be something there for Tottenham in that regard. Even in midweek Liverpool looked shaky at the back in their Champions League game at Genk. They came through for the win, but there are spaces in Jurgen Klopp’s back line to be exploited. Will Harry Kane or a bit of brilliance from Christian Eriksen be able to crack them open?
Of course Liverpool are the team to beat this season. They have not lost in 42 Premier League home games. They have scored at least two goals in each of their last 11 league fixtures at Anfield. But you look back through their results this season, to see that Norwich and Newcastle have managed to get on the board at Anfield, then by reasonable assumption, Spurs should strike there too.
Tottenham’s away day blues
Spurs have lost their last two away games. The first was at Leicester and then at Brighton. It can’t get any worse than their performance at Brighton, so that’s a positive. In their other two away games this season they played out 2-2 draws at Manchester City and Arsenal in big games. So they have delivered the goals in their tough road matches.
Spurs have scored in four of their last five visits to Anfield as well. Defensively Spurs look fragile as well, but in an open game against a Liverpool back line which has not looked impressive down the flanks, Spurs may be able to come up with something. They need something to really get their away form going.
Underdogs to have their day?
There is basically little pressure on the shoulders of Tottenham in this game, even though they haven’t gotten their season going yet. Apart from the first half of their home game against Crystal Palace Spurs have not been in top gear. In a big game like this, that should come naturally. If the tactical lineup and the mentality is right, if a little bit of luck are on their side, Spurs are capable of knocking over the Reds and defying the big odds against them. The odds on Tottenham to beat Liverpool are 11/2 at Bet365* (betting odds taken from bet365 on OCtober 25th, 2019 at 9:59 pm).
