BetFred winner takes £190k on totescoop63rd November 2012 / lee
A good reminder of the value of the Totescoop6 for your horse racing betting. Last weekend, a lucky punter using BetFred, walked away with £191,211 from a Totescoop6 bet. The horse racing wager, which is popular among punters for the big rewards which can come from a small stake. The Totescoop6 is probably one of the most publicised options on the horse racing Tote and what punters have to do is pick the six winners of the selected races for that particular day’s Scoop6.
Being on the Tote, the prize fund can usually get quite big, as it is based on the amount that is put into the pool, which is dependant on how many punters bet and how much is wagered. If there is more than one winner of the Totescoop6 then the pool is split between all of them.
That wasn’t the case for the lucky punter last Saturday, who went in the final leg of the weekend’s Totescoop6 with four tickets riding on Sir John Hawkwood, Tameen, Sunpass and Blue Surf in the 3.45 from Newbury. 7/1 shot Blue Surf took the line first and the punter took away a hefty pay day and was also entered into a shot a winning the Scoop 6 Bonus, where a horse gets selected to win the bonus race. Last weekend, there was a total value of £187,404 going onto the tote pool and there were 98 winners taking a share of the place fund, each picking up a nice £382.
The Totescoop6 costs £2 for one selection in each of the six races making up the Scoop 6, which is ran on a Saturday and usually features competitive races from Channel four, in order to raise interest. Punters can have as many goes as they like on the Scoop 6, which is a bit like a lottery, but you at least get to put your skill of picking winners to the test and not relying totally on luck.
