It is the Germans who are the favourites to win, but they will have to sharpen up after a lacklustre opening display. Germany Women to beat Spain Odds are at 4/5* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on June 10th, 2019 at 6:40 p.m.)

Can Germany pick up their form?
It wasn’t the greatest of performances from Germany in their opening World Cup match. They were expected to come out and put a domineering performance on the board, but that has never happened. Germany had to settle for a 1-0 success over China. It could of course, just have been a matter of working their way into the tournament and pacing themselves for a deep run.
But they will need to start turning it up a little bit in this one against tougher opposition that is Spain. Actually, the success over China continued a trend of some fairly low key wins that Germany have recorded recently. Across their last five games, Germany have won four of them, drawing the other game in that sequence. But three of the four successes that they picked up in that run of games were only by the one-goal margin.
The odds on Germany Women to beat Spain women by a one goal margin are at 13/5* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on June 10th, 2019 at 6:40 p.m.). While they had taken a clean sheet in three of their last five games, their defence was exposed against China but were let off the hook. China had their chances to really rattle the Europeans, but just never had on their shooting boots on the day. Germany need a better performance for their self confidence and belief. A victory here will see them take control of their group.
Spain shaping up well
Spain had to come from behind in their opening World Cup fixtures, to produce a 3-1 success over South Africa. Spain conceded the opening goal of the game in the 25th minute and it wasn’t until deep into the second half that they managed to get a response on the board.
Spain got their equaliser in the 70th minute from the penalty spot when star striker Jennifer Hermoso slotted home a penalty. Just 30 minutes later Spain had a second spot kick which Hermoso also converted. Where would Spain have been without those spot kicks?
Spain put the game beyond reach in the 89th-minute substitute Lucia Garcia got their third of the game. Just ahead of the start of the World Cup Spain had put together a three-match undefeated streak of form, with a W1 D2 record. The two drawn games in that sequence came against Canada and Japan, two of the stronger sides are taking part in the tournament.
So Spain can be very pleased with their effort recently, but can they really take it a step further to cause an upset? Germany have won all but two of their last thirteen games and they look as if they have more gears to go up into.
