Massive Bonus Fund win dominates Scoop6 Horse Racing betting weekend

18th February 2013 / lee

After a bumper winning weekend on the Scoop6 on February 9th, things were much calmer on Saturday 16th. The Win Fund stood at £54,602 for the day’s action and there was no winner, meaning that there will be a rollover Win Fund for this weekend coming up. Still, it wasn’t all bad news because over 100 punters did get their hands on a share of the Place Fund, again providing a very nice return for a small stake.

Saturday’s horse racing action on the Scoop6 came from Haydock, Wincanton and Ascot. After the first race of the six, the 2:20 at Haydock, there were over 6,000 tickets remaining for the Win Fund but that was trimmed all the way down to just 849 at the close of the second race of the Scoop6 on Saturday, as favourite Amigo could only come home third in the 2:30 at Wincanton, with over 2100 of the Win Fund tickets riding on his back. Benvolio’s win in the race carried forward 849 tickets to third race.

The third race, the 2:40 at Ascot was won by favourite Vino Griego leaving 326 tickets running for the Win Fund and that was down to just 46 after the 2:55 at Haydock with favourite Well Refreshed crossing the line first. This was the Bonus Fund race, upon which went the 35 ticket winners from last weekend’s Win Fund. Eight of those lucky punters picked out the winner Well Refreshed and those eight each collected over £39,000 for their Bonus Fund Win. Added to their £6,000 each they each took from last weekend’s Win Fund, it’s been a highly profitable week or so for those eight on the Win Fund.

However, all remaining tickets were wiped out from the Win Fund as Kuilsriver took the fifth of the six races on Saturday, when most of the attention in the race had gone to Queens Grove and The Bear Trap. At the close of the 3:50 at Ascot, the final race of the Scoop6, 103 winners of the Place Fund were left standing and each took away a very nice return of £302.90 for their efforts.

A £2 stake is all it will take for you to have a crack at the Scoop6 big prizes. The Tote will announce the six races which make up the Scoop6 day on a Saturday and punters can use their horse racing knowledge and experience to try and pick out the six winners of each of the featured races.
