Odds on Liverpool to beat Arsenal 2017-12-2221st December 2017 / lee
There is a big showdown in the Premier League on Friday night at the Emirates in North London as the Gunners play host to Liverpool. This is a top five clash with Liverpool holding a one point ascendancy over the Gunners and so there is everything to play for in this Friday night fixture. This will basically be the decider of which of them will be finishing in the Premier League top four for Christmas and down the line it couldhave major ramifications in the race for a Champions League spot of course.
Arsenal v Liverpool Odds
Arsenal 7/5, Draw 13/5, Liverpool 7/4
This is a fixture which produced a lot of goals recently and each of the last nine meetings have gone over 2.5 goals and realistically it is not a bad option on this one going even further and over 3.5 goals at William Hill returns a price of 6/5 odds. In the earlier meeting, this season Liverpool romped to a 4-0 home victory over the Gunners and it is the Reds who are carrying the head to head form as well.
Liverpool are on a three match winning streak against the Gunners now in the Premier League and they are unbeaten in five against them. In each of their last four games against the North London side, Liverpool have scored at least three goals. On top of that, the Reds have taken four points from their last two visits to the Emirates as well and what is notable about their current form in the Premier League is their way form.
Liverpool are trucking along with a four match winning streak away from Anfield in the top flight and they have scored at least three goals in each of those wins as well (16 goals in total). While their home form remains questionable, they have been explosive and brilliant away from home. Their defence has come under some scrutiny away from home this season, but even that has tightened up with just the one goal conceded in their last three way fixtures.
Liverpool carry a multi-pronged attack too with Philippe Coutinho in irresistible form recently, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino playing big support roles to the outstanding Mo Salah who is currently leading the Premier League Golden Boot race. Salah is an 11/10 option at William Hill to keep his scoring streak going and going one against the Gunners earlier in the season. So stack all that up and Liverpool looks a solid bet to win the game.
Arsenal have had a fine season on home soil of course with a great W8 L1 record at the Emirates, but they recently slipped up at home against Manchester United and with other defeats across the season against Man City and Liverpool as well, they haven’t quite come up big enough in their big games at all aside from a home win over Spurs back in mid-November. The goals have dried up lately for Arsenal as well which could hamper them, as they have only scored more than one goal in just one of their last six league games.
The Gunners may well have trouble matching up to Liverpool in the game and a win for the visitors at 7/4 with William Hill has appeal.
