Odds on Liverpool to beat Everton 2019-12-042nd December 2019 / lee
Liverpool vs Everton Premier League Preview, 4th December 8.15 pm
Everton suffered an agonising defeat out at Leicester on Sunday. The Toffees put on a good show against the in-form Foxes but a late intervention by VAR sunk them in stoppage time. That left them having just above the drop zone by two points as two of the three beneath them collected points on the weekend. Liverpool survived some late pressure at home against Brighton but still managed to muscle their way to three points, despite having keeper Allisson sent off. The odds on Liverpool to beat Everton in the Merseyside derby are heavily in favour of the home win, naturally. Read our Liverpool vs Everton betting tips for more.

Resilient Reds have the quality to take out Everton
Liverpool should have closed out their home game against Brighton on the weekend easily. They were 2-0 up before keeper Alisson got himself a red card. That allowed Brighton to pull a goal back and then Liverpool were sweating all the way until the final whistle. But Liverpool still collected the three points leaving them with a perfect seven wins from seven at Anfield. Again, even in the face of adversity they just wouldn’t break. Even with a lack of clean sheets (none at home this season and none in their last seven home and away), Liverpool are still going strong.
Five of their last six wins have been by a 2-1 scoreline. As a championship title-winning team, sometimes just digging out the wins when not playing well is all that it takes. Everton could learn a lesson like that. Four of Liverpool’s home wins have been by at least a two-goal margin and the Reds have been ahead at the break in all but one home game (L1). Liverpool have also opened the scoring in all but for league games in his campaign, netting at least two goals in all home fixtures. It’s not form that Everton are likely to stand up to.
Liverpool vs Everton Head to Head
Liverpool took four points against Everton last season
There has been one goal only in the three league meetings (total)
Everton are winless against Liverpool since 2010
Three of the last four league meetings have been drawn
Everton’s confidence sinks a little lower
Everton arguably deserved a point for their efforts at Leicester on Sunday. But VAR awarded the Foxes a goal in stoppage time and Everton were left frustrated and dejected in a 2-1 loss. That is back to back league defeats for them and they are only two points above the drop zone heading into the weekend. Everton have lost five of their seven away games this season (W1 D1) and it continues to be a disappointment after disappointment for them.
Everton have only managed six away goals in this campaign, while they have conceded at an average of 1.7 per road fixture. There isn’t a team in the top flight who have collected fewer away points than Everton. Just three sides in the division have produced fewer goals. 73% of the league goals that Everton have conceded this season have been in the second half of games. You have to throw on top their long winless record at Anfield and this looks like a game that will sink them even further into trouble.

Who will win – Liverpool vs Everton Predictions
This is the last game that Everton need at the moment. Liverpool just find ways to win even when they aren’t in top gear. Despite the lack of clean sheets, the Reds are playing like champions, just collecting win after win. It has to be the home win that is favoured here.
