This should be another intriguing game for Southampton. The Saints fought back to beat bottom side Watford on the weekend, giving them a bit of joy for the first time on home soil this season. The Canaries have just hit a bit of form with four points collected from their last two and the goals have flowed from them against. The odds on Norwich to beat Southampton may just have some appeal for punters. Read our Southampton vs Norwich betting tips for more.

Improving Canaries can snag three points

Recent results by Norwich will make them a very interesting proposition in this game. They have collected four points from their last two games. They first bagged a clean sheet victory away at Everton and then they followed it up with a 2-2 home draw against Arsenal on the weekend. They had found themselves in front in the game as well. This burst of form suggests that they may be able to take on the Saints in this huge survival scrap.

It is only a poor W1 D1 L5 record away from home that Norwich have taken and they have only scored three goals on their travels. But Southampton are far from ship-shape at the back and the Canaries will have something to attack. Todd Cantwell has scored in Norwich’s last two games. Another factor in considering Norwich in this game is that their two clean sheets earned for the campaign have both happened on the road. This isn’t a game they can afford to lose. They may indeed have enough to win it.

Southampton vs Norwich Head to Head

This is the first league meeting since the 2015/16 EPL
None of the last eight meetings in all competitions have produced an away win
Southampton are on a three-match winning streak at home over Norwich
Both teams have scored in two of the last seven meetings

Southampton’s lack of home form still a concern

Southampton came up with a big three points at home against bottom side Watford on the weekend. But it wasn’t plain sailing for the Saints who had to come from behind to win. So there was a struggle there and considering that Southampton are only W1 D1 L5 at home in this campaign, there is a clear chance that Norwich can get at them. Southampton’s win on the weekend snapped a shocking run of D2 L6 that the Saints had been on.

It was a four-match losing streak at St Mary’s as well from them before that sunk Watford. It has been an average of over three goals per game that Southampton have conceded this season. There has not been a clean sheet by them in any of their last nine played. Southampton have also been losing at half time in all seven home games this season. 6 of the 7 home games that they have scored this season have come in the second half of fixtures.

Who will win – Southampton vs Norwich Predictions

The odds on Norwich to come up with the three points at St Mary’s does have some appeal. They have produced a bit of scoring form and are facing a side who have rarely produced anything of note on home turf this season. Away win.
