Wolves can dig out a home win over West Ham
Wolves played out a 1-1 draw on the weekend. Was that a shock to anyone? It was the fourth time in their last six league outings that they have settled for a 1-1 scoreline. It has been five draws in their last nine league games and all of those drawn matches had a 1-1 scoreline. It’s been a big feature of their season. Seven of the eight games that Wolves have drawn this season (which is a league-high) have been by the scoreline. Wolves are on a four-match unbeaten streak at home with a W2 D2 record and look good enough to beat the Hammers.
Five of Wolves’ seven home games in this campaign have ended under 2.5 goals. In their seven home fixtures, Wolves have been losing at half time, but still, they keep themselves in games, which is to their huge credit. All but two of their ten home goals this season have come in the second half of games. Yes, there has been all of those drawn games, but Wolves are on a great unbeaten run of form at the moment and are stacked with quality. With no Europa League distraction this week, it’s full-on focus on the EPL.
Wolves vs West Ham Head to Head
Wolves did the league double over West Ham last season to nil
West Ham have won one of the last five league games against Wolves
Wolves have taken four points from their last two home games against the Hammers
Only two of the last seven meetings have gone over 2.5 goals
Hummers yet to prove that they have turned the corner
An away win at Chelsea on the weekend gave West Ham a huge lift. They were winless in seven games before that (D2 L5). Somehow they came up with a 1-0 win over the Blues, but Chelsea did have an off-day in front of goal, letting the Hammers off the hook a couple of times. So it could still easily have been an away defeat for West Ham and the win doesn’t prove that they have turned the corner.
They have only taken the two wins on their travels this season and with West Ham only averaging a goal per away game, that hints that they may not have enough to get anything more than a draw in the game at Molineux. West Ham have been level at the halftime break in five of their seven road games, so that’s not a bad option to consider. But at the end of the day only the current bottom three have a worse defensive record than West Ham do this season.
Wolves vs West Ham Tips & Odds
Who will win – Wolves vs West Ham Predictions
West Ham are going to need more than one win under their belt to prove to punters that they have turned the corner. Wolves are remarkably just going along unbeaten despite having left it late on more than one occasion to save a point. It’s tough being out on the road in back to back games. Home win.
