Scoop6 heading to record £4m total next weekend22nd April 2014 / lee
Online betting site Betfred are expecting the Scoop6 to go over £4 million and set a new record for the bet next weekend. The Scoop6 rolled over for the eighth consecutive time on the weekend, with the win fund poised at £1,528,248 and around the same figure sitting in the bonus pool as well.
With a massive prize fund up for grabs, punters are going to be heading for a big shot.
With 16/1 winner No Planning upsetting the field on the weekend’s very first leg of the Scoop6, it decimated a lot of tickets right from the get go. No Planning’s win only left less than 13,000 tickets still competing for the other five legs of the bet. With other long-priced winners coming up in the bet, the Scoop6 did not return a single winner. Georgian Bay was the day’s shortest priced winner on the Scoop6 at 11/2.
There was around £1.5 million going towards the scoop6 on the weekend, and because of the high interest with the fund already rolling over so many times, it boosted the pots even more, taking the win dividend to within £14,000 of its record ever title.
“We were 4-6 that the Scoop6 was won this Saturday and incredibly once again it rolled after just four legs,” said Totepool spokesperson Mark Pearson. “Turnover was massive at £1,585,098 and next weekend the combined win and bonus funds will go over £4m.
“If it eludes the punters again it would be a record rollover in the bet’s fifteen year history. We could even end up with record combined funds which was in November 2008 when it hit £4.5m. The Scoop6 has once again caught the public’s imagination.”
There were 536 winners of the place dividend, who picked up £591.40 each.
