Thursday produced an absolutely stunning win from a punter at the races. A punter at Sky Bet pulled off a huge win of over £40,000 from the first race of Thursday. The race was the 1.50 at Salisbury which was won by the aptly named Fortune And Glory.
With the five-year-old winning, it brought up the final leg of a fantastic 10-fold bet for a punter at Sky Bet. The 7/2 Fortune And Glory completed the full house after the punter had seen nine-straight winners come home from races earlier on Thursday from international racing.
The bet was a £2.50 each-way accumulator which returned around £43,600 from the £5 stake.

Following suit of other online operators such as BetVictor, Betfair Sportsbook and William Hill, SkyBet are now offering a minimum bet guarantee on horse racing. Sky Bet, who are one of the biggest online betting operators in the UK, also boast one of the highest turnovers in horse racing betting.
The operator is now offering at least a partial ‘minimum bet’ guarantee to their customers as they will lay any horse to lose at least £500 in a Class One or Class Two race from 10 o’clock on the morning of the race.
So it is a very similar offering in that regard to what other operators like BetVictor (who were the first) have recently installed. Now even customers at Sky Bet who have had account restrictions in place will be able to place win single bets to win up to £500, or a maximum of £500 at even money, or £50 at 10-1.
There are terms and conditions which we encourage readers to fully check out at the Sky Bet website, including the offer covering only the win part of each-way bets and not multiples. There will be further limitations placed on the number of races that it gets applied to each day as it stands. The day after the new product was launched, it was applied to just three races for the day, all of Class Two or higher to meet the offer’s conditions.
These changes have come about following a difficult couple of years for bookmakers following complaints from customers (not just at Sky Bet but all online operators) about having their accounts restricted in recent years. Bookmakers tend to not close accounts of customers who show to have betting patterns such as consistently beating starting prices, but lower the amount of stake that can be played down to pennies on racing or any other sport where a punter could hope to beat the market.
A spokesman for website Justice For Punters has welcomed the moves by Sky Bet and other operators to lifting restrictions, made a nod towards the Gambling Commission needing to do more for the protection of punters, by ensuring there are similar rules across sports at all online operators.
“Bookies are slowly waking up to the unfairness and bad publicity that surrounds banning every savvy punter,” Chappell said. “Crucially, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and the Gambling Commission haven’t, thus punters will have to wait a long time for truly fair trading, despite a few bookies making limited progress.”
There was a huge acca win for a punter at Sky Bet last weekend from a massive ten-selection wager, composed of teams that most people probably haven’t heard of. The punter threw a £10 stake at this big ten-fold acca and considering the obscuring of the majority of the teams it was a pretty optimistic shot at a Both Teams To Score accumulator, with sections spanning overseas leagues in Italy, Portugal, France, Romania, Switzerland, South Africa and Argentina.
The exact amount of winnings returned to the punter’s Sky Bet account was £36,055.52.
Inter Milan 1-1 Crotone
Montpellier 2-1 Angers
Benfica 5-1 Rio Ave
Orlando Pirates 2-1 Maritzburg
Metan Medias 1-2 Steaua Bucuresti
AmaZulu 2-1 Golden Arrows
Red Bull Salzburg 2-1 Admira Wacker Modling
Padova 1-1 Sambenedettese
Fermana 1-1 Santarcangelo

A lucky punter pulled off a stunning betting success on the weekend as they cashed in on a £1 accumulator from Saturday’s soccer action. This was a 12-fold Acca played, ambitious and bold as it was a stunning return collected as all of the legs came up, aside from the Rochdale v Southend fixture in League One was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
The wager was a £1 12-fold accumulator on Sky Bet EFL fixtures with ‘Both Teams to Score and No Draw’ the option for all of the legs of the bet. There were goals flying around all of the fixtures and one of the big ones that the punter had to sweat on was the Leeds v Millwall game at Elland Road.
The two sides were level at 3-3 at 90 minutes before the Lions came up with a winner two minutes into stoppage time to silence the home support. In total the exact amount of winnings returned to the punter’s Sky Bet account was £44,032.62.
Leeds 3-4 Millwall
Norwich 1-2 Sheff Utd
Bristol Rovers 3-1 Bradford
Fleetwood 1-2 Blackburn
Oxford 1-2 Bury
Plymouth 1-3 Wigan
Rochdale v Southend – POSTPONED
Coventry 3-1 Swindon
Crewe 2-3 Wycombe
Forest Green 5-2 Cambridge
Notts County 1-2 Exeter
Yeovil 1-2 Chesterfield
Three of the weekend’s Premier League odds-on favourites to win their home matches have been thrown together in a huge price boost at Sky Bet. This is an offer which can really increase your returns as the new season arrives. For the 3 pm kick offs from the top flight on Saturday, Sky Bet have boosted Chelsea, Everton and Crystal Palace all to win their respective games.
The original price on this was 5/2, then it was boosted to 4/1 and then Sky Bet applied a super boost to take the price to 6/1.
Chelsea start at Stamford Bridge against Burnley and the reigning champions are expected to bank three comfortable points in this one. The Clarets look as if they could be set for some struggles this season with such a small budget to work with. The Clarets are one of the favourites to suffer relegation this season from the top flight.
Everton are also at home as they take on Stoke at Goodison Park. Stoke have received plenty of backing to get relegated this season and they have lost some key players without, so far at least, having replaced them. Everton are odds-on to take the victory in the match and then rounding out this special price offer at Sky Bet is Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace then start on home soil and like Everton and Chelsea are favourites to win. They get a shot against the newly promoted Huddersfield who are the outright favourites to suffer the drop straight back down to the second tier. So this could be a good chance for the Eagles to bag three points.
Chelsea, Everton and Palace are running at individual odds-on prices for their games, so the 6/1 price boost on them at Sky Bet is massive!
