Who will be crowned Wimbledon Champion this season at the third Grand Slam of the season? It is summertime in England and therefore the strawberries and cream will be flowing as punters take in the action on the courts. Home hopes rest on Andy Murray in the men’s and Johanna Konta in the women’s draw. This season the men’s draw, because of frailties among the big four, looks mightily interesting.
Andy Murray has been plagued with illness and injury this season, while Novak Djokovic hasn’t found any form since January. Then you have Rafa Nadal who has produced nothing at Wimbledon since a 2011 loss in the final, and all of that leaves the evergreen Roger Federer as the outright favourite this year. But punters may fancy opposing the big four with dangerous youngsters in the field like Alexander Zverev and the rising star that is Dominic Thiem, who has already beaten Murray, Djokovic and Nadal this season.
Roger Federer 9/4, Andy Murray 10/3, Rafael Nadal 9/2, Novak Djokovic 6/1, Milos Raonic 14/1, Marin Cilic 14/1, Alexander Zverev 16/1, Nick Kyrgios 16/1, Grigor Dimitrov 20/1, Stan Wawrinka 25/1, Dominic Thiem 28/1, Juan Martin del Potro 28/1, bar 50/1.

There has been some great grass court tennis action around already and as the build up to Wimbledon continues, we head into the final weekend of the ATP AEGON Championship at the famous Queen’s Club. Will Andy Murray be able to go one better than last season’s effort and claim his first ever French Open Grand Slam title? Will Novak Djokovic be able to successfully defend his title? These are pretty big questions because neither have been running in particularly good form this season with just the one title each posted for 2017. Both have been having some real struggles to find their form and that opens up the field naively for others.
It is Rafael Nadal who is Paddy Power outright favourite to win the French Open for what would be the tenth time in his career. This is his sportingly home and after some superbly strong showings on the clay swing of the ATP this season already, he is the one to beat. Will the slump in form of both Djokovic and Murray open up the door for the likes of Stan Wawrinka and Dominic Thiem to be able to make strong runs this season?
There is a massive fortnight of top tennis action to come from Paris, Paddy Power are running a huge promotion.

It is as simple as that and the offer runs right through to the final as well on June 11th. Rafael Nadal has had such a tremendous career at Roland Garros in the French Open, to the Spaniard is going to be heavily backed this time around. He has been the in-form man on the ATP Tour in the clay swing of the new season and with no Roger Federer around, then that is one top opponent out of the way at least. Nadal has won nine of the last twelve editions of the French Open, will he be able to make it ten French Open titles?
Opposing him at the head of the field will be the current world number one Andy Murray, who was runner up in last season’s French Open Final, and Novak Djokovic. The Serbian has been having a difficult season by his standards but recently ran to the final of the Italian Open on clay and he has been to four of the last five French Open Finals, winning last year there for the first time in his career.

What a remarkable Australian Open 2017 it has been. It has certainly been an event for the experienced greats as we have a Roger Federer v Rafael Nadal showdown in the men’s final and in the women’s on Saturday it is sisters Serena and Venus Williams on opposite sides of the net playing for the title. Serena Williams wasn’t as heavily backed as she usually is at Grand Slams because this was her return to action after about 6 months out of action. As for Venus, she was a huge price to land the title in the ante post market.
But we will see the ninth Grand Slam final battle between the two Williams’ sisters on the weekend and the last time that they were paired up for a Grand Slam final was back in 2009 at Wimbledon. It’s been that long. Serena is favourite to take the title, as she leads the head to head 16-11 and she has also won seven of the last eight against Venus as well. Serena has won the Australian Open six times before too, whereas her sister Venus will be looking to nail her first ever title success in Melbourne.

Back in 2012 Andy Murray made his big break through by landing his first ever Grand Slam title, which came at Flushing Meadows in the US Open. He hasn’t been able to add to that success in New York, but for many this time around, he is heading into the event as the favourite. There is no Roger Federer and, Rafael Nadal isn’t at the high levels he once was and there is even some doubts about world number one Novak Djokovic, the stars could be aligning for Murray to get his second US Open title.
No one has been able to touch Murray’s form over the summer as he powered his way to the big titles at Wimbledon and at Rio 2016. On his return from the Olympics he surprised himself by going to the final of the Southern & Western Open, where he lost to Marin Cilic, but that was still a big week from Murray after his exertions in Brazil. So he is the form player at the moment and with Djokovic having misfired over the second half of the season, Murray heads to Flushing Meadows as many people’s favourite for the men’s title, even if the bookmaker still have him behind Djokovic.
