Tiger Roll success lands big Lucky 15 for Boylesports punter10th April 2019 / lee
Tiger Roll became the first horse to secure back to back Grand National successes since Red Rum’s famous achievement in 1974. Gordon Elliott’s star stayer turned up at Aintree once again and showed the field what he was made of by achieving the rare feat.
There had been so much support for Tiger Roll going into the 2019 Grand National that he was as short as 7/2 with bookmakers to get the win under his belt.
One punter at Boylesports had included Tiger Roll in a €2 each-way Lucky 15 bet from Saturday’s racing at Aintree.
4/1 Ornua kicked the bet into gear as the first selection, before If The Cap Fits, backed at 13/2, and 6/1 shot Kildisart triumphed to make it three wins from the opening legs of the Lucky 15. So that left everyone hanging on Tiger Roll and his title defence at the Grand National.
With his victory in the National, it meant that 15 bets had landed on that Lucky 15 ticket, which returned a grand total of €7,930.78 from a €60 stake. The return included special bonuses for two fo the winner had been at bigger SP’s.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for Boylesports said: “Hats off to our Offaly customer who is toasting Tiger Roll’s Grand National victory more than most. It must have been a nail-biting watch in the big one, but their canny picks have paid off and we hope they enjoy a well-deserved treat with their winnings.”
