Today’s best football betting tips UK – Tuesday, 15th September 2020

Betting Events

There is a bumper night of action for today’s football betting tips. We will be taking a look at some more interesting action from Ligue 1 to start with.

The UEFA Champions League qualifiers also march on this week, so we will be looking at those matches from Tuesday for football betting tips today.

It’s also EFL Cup night in England, so we will pick out a game from there to round off our picks with.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: Montpellier v Lyon

The French top-flight has not been short of excitement so far, with reigning champions PSG losing their opening to games and Rennes sitting top of the pile.

Montpellier have taken a W1 L1 record from their two games played so far and that win happened on the weekend with a 3-1 home win over the in-form Nice.

So that will have settled Montepellier nicely who stays on home turf for their midweek action where they are the 14/5 underdogs with Paddy Power.

In the last four meetings between the two teams in Montpellier, things are even with one win each and two drawn matches.

Montpellier collected a 1-0 home win over Lyon last season, in the only meeting of the campaign.

So it’s reasonable enough to assume that this is going to be a close game with the visitors coming in as the outright favourites at Even money.

Lyon opened with a 4-1 win over Dijon but were then stifled in a 0-0 draw with Bordeaux in their follow up.

Each of their last three trips to Montpellier has ended under 2.5 goals and so that may just be the way to go for a little value.

Under 2.5 goals at 8/11

Football Betting Picks Today: PAOK v Benfica

Next for today’s football betting is UEFA Champions League qualification action featuring PAOK v Benfica.

In the last round of qualification, PAOK posted a 3-1 home win over Besiktas, so have their merits here, although this looks a tougher challenge.

The Greek side just played the opening fixture of their new domestic season on Friday, taking a 1-0 win at home in it.

The Champions League campaign for PAOK last season ended at the first hurdle, as they were beaten 5-4 on aggregate in a thrilling qualifying tie with Ajax.

PAOK are the 3/1 underdogs in the match outright with Paddy Power.

Benfica are yet to get their new domestic campaign up and running, so they will be coming in a little bit cold.

So that is something that could make this very interesting. But will the experience that they have, pull them through?

They were group stage participants last season in the competition, taking a W2 D1 L1 record, finishing third in the group.

It was an immediate exit then for them after dropping to the Europa League, getting eliminated 5-4 on aggregate against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The likelihood of goals flying around seems to be there, but we’d have to support the away win.

Benfica to win at 4/5

Football Betting Tips for Today: Gent v Rapid Vienna

This should be an interesting match between Gent and Rapid Vienna and it has to be the visitors who get the nod for the win as 21/10 underdogs.

Rapid Vienna have won each of their three games played this season, in a variety of competitions (Champions League, Austrian Cup and Austrian Bundesliga).

They have tallied 9 goals in their last two games as well.

Their first game of this season happened at Lokomotiv Zagreb in the Champions League qualification, Rapid winning 1-0 there.

This will be their first meeting with Gent.

Gent has had a tough time of things in the new season. They are W4 L1 in their five league matches played in the Belgian top flight.

Each of those games were settled by a 1-goal margin which is a trend to consider. They are just not firing at the moment.

Last season they did have a long Europa League campaign, coming from the first round of qualifying to reach the round of 32 where they were narrowly beaten by Roma.

They could be vulnerable in this qualifier on Tuesday however and are worth a pass at 13/10 with Paddy Power.

Rapid Vienna to win at 21/10

Best Betting Sites Football Tip: Dynamo Kiev v AZ Alkmaar

We stay in the Champions League qualifiers for our next of today’s football betting tips.

This is another of the night’s ties that do not look particularly cut and dry as Kiev are the 7/5 odds-against favourites with Paddy Power.

So far in this new season, Dynamo Kiev have played two league games and have won the Ukrainian Super Cup over Shakhtar.

In last season’s Champions League qualifiers, they fell 4-3 on aggregate to Club Brugge in the play off round.

That sent them to the Europa League group stage where they failed to progress after posting a D5 L1 record from their six games.

So their European form isn’t all that great now. But they are facing an AZ Alkmaar side who struggled in the last qualifying round.

They needed extra time to get a 3-1 home win on the board over Viktoria Plzen, and the Dutch side are 15/8 underdogs.

Dynamo Kiev to win at 7/5

Best Betting Site Predictions: Bournemouth v Crystal Palace

Let’s round this off with a dip into the EFL Cup on Tuesday night. Last season Bournemouth and Palace were both in the Premier League.

But the Cherries were relegated at the end of the campaign and they are the 2/1 underdogs to get this cup win.

This surely can’t be a high priority for Bournemouth, who started the new Championship season with an exciting 3-2 home win over Blackburn.

In last season’s Premier League the Cherries lost both of their fixtures against Crystal Palace and have won one of their last eight games against them.

Palace secured a 1-0 home win over Southampton in their opening Premier League game of the new campaign on the weekend.

Just because we see the Eagles taking even less interest in this fixture away from home, we are actually going to go against their 13/10 favouritism.
